SPRINGVILLE — Springville police are searching for a gunman who shot and injured one person Sunday afternoon.
Just after 5 p.m., Springville police were dispatched to 1327 W. 50 North for a reported shooting. Officers arrived and found a 35-year-old man had been shot three times.
Emergency officials treated the man’s wounds then transported him to Utah Valley Hospital. He underwent surgery and is expected to recover, police said.
Officers from Springville, Mapleton and Provo as well as Utah County deputies started searching the area for the gunman who ran north from the scene, got on a motorcycle and sped out of the area. He is described as Hispanic, about 5 feet 6 inches tall, wearing dark blue jeans, a black hoodie, a black beanie and red high-top tennis shoes.
“The suspect is still at large and should be considered armed and dangerous,” Springville police said in a press release Sunday evening.
Police said it is unclear if it was a targeted incident or a random act of violence. Anyone with information that could help the investigation is encouraged to call Springville police at 801-489-9421.
