WEST POINT — The Davis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal police shooting in West Point on Monday night.

Chief Deputy Taylor West said there was an “officer-involved critical incident” in West Point near 650 N. 2300 West. Officers used deadly force, he said, and one person is dead at the scene.

West did not specify if the deceased was an officer or a civilian.

Officials say there is no threat to public safety. Further details on what occurred were not immediately available.
