PAYSON — Northbound I-15 is closed in Payson after a small plane landed on the freeway on Monday evening.
The closure is in effect in the area of 400 North as of about 8:30 p.m., the Utah Department of Transportation reported. It is expected to remain closed for a few hours.
The plane made an emergency landing on I-15 and was involved in a crash with five cars, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden said.
No one in the plane was injured. One person from one of the cars was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, Roden said.
Photos shared from the scene show the plane landed parallel to the freeway median without any visible damage. Additional information was not immediately available.
