SALT LAKE CITY — Two people were injured Monday in separate collisions with trains in Salt Lake City, police said.
A cyclist was hospitalized after colliding with a Union Pacific train in Salt Lake City Monday morning, the rail company said.
The crash happened about 10:20 a.m. near South Temple and 800 West in Salt Lake City, according to Union Pacific spokeswoman Meg Siffring.
Police confirmed the cyclist, a man, was taken to a hospital in serious condition.
“The train crew was not injured, and the incident is under investigation,” Siffring said via email.
Another person was injured later Monday in a separate train crash, police said. The crash happened in the area of 200 S. Redwood.
The person sustained injuries described as serious. The injuries did not, however, appear life-threatening, Salt Lake police said.
Police have not released additional information about the two crashes.
